Problem Note 42828: PROC MIXED might generate Read Access Violation with INFLUENCE(ITER= EFFECT=EST) options in the MODEL statement
PROC MIXED might abend when the INFLUENCE(ITER= EFFECT=EST) options are included in the MODEL statement when there are a large number of observations associated with one of the levels of the SUBJECT=effect on the RANDOM or REPEATED statement.
A working space is needed in handling the INFLUENCE option in PROC MIXED. The size of this working space is currently computed as
mmeqsize*mmeqsize+3*mmeqsize
where mmeqsize is the size of mixed model equations. The easiest way to compute the mmeqsize is to sum the number of parameters for the SOLUTION option in the MODEL and RANDOM statements. The working space in PROC MIXED is large enough for most cases. However, when the Max Obs Per Subject value in the Dimensions table is greater than mmeqsize*mmeqsize+3*mmeqsize then PROC MIXED issues an abend.
There is no circumvention for this problem.
